Reporting Absence
Good attendance is essential for academic success, personal development, and building strong routines. We would like to remind parents/carers of the importance of notifying the school promptly if a scholar is absent.
Please report any absence by calling the school and selecting ‘Option 1’ or by emailing absence@benjaminbritten.school. Please note: the MCAS app and/or the Office email should not be used to report absences.
The Department for Education has made it clear that holidays do not qualify as ‘exceptional circumstances’ and therefore cannot be authorised during term time. In line with the statutory guidance, and our local authority’s policy, a Fixed Penalty Notice will be issued for unauthorised term-time holidays.
