School Council First Aid Morning

(7) Benjamin Britten Academy of Music and Mathematics

On Tuesday 15th November,  Andy and Debbie Mower from Lowestoft Community First Responders came in to school to work with members of the School Council, teaching them how to dress basic wounds and bleeding, the recovery position and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. By the end of the session, all students were proficient in these areas and had great fun practising on each other and the ‘Annies’.  Year 11 student, Katie Plant, also delivered practical sessions and demonstrations as a qualified member of the CFR team. Katie will be able to attend call-outs from the age of 18. All students received a certificate of attendance from the East of England Ambulance Service and the British Heart Foundation.
