Duke of Edinburgh Diamond Challenge 2016

“Challenge means doing new things that force you to push yourself. It’s about accepting the unknown and understanding it will be hard, but doing it anyway.” – Levison Wood, Adventurer.

2016 marks the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and to celebrate, the organisation is encouraging people to take on a once-in-a-lifetime challenge of their choice and in doing so, raise funds to help transform the lives of young people in the area.

Never ones to shy away from a challenge, Miss Rackham, Miss Banns and Benjamin Britten students have joined forces with Hartismere School staff and students to embark on a unique and daring Diamond adventure...

The challenge will take place on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd July and will involve a 40 mile walk from Lowestoft to Eye, where Hartismere school is based, including an overnight stop at a campsite halfway between the two locations. Each participant who raises a minimum of £60 for the charity will also earn their Diamond Challenge Pin! A Just Giving page has been set up for those who would like to show their support for this exciting endeavor and donate to a very worthwhile cause:

Thank you very much for your support and good luck to all students and staff taking part!
