“Challenge means doing new things that force you to push yourself. It’s about accepting the unknown and understanding it will be hard, but doing it anyway.” – Levison Wood, Adventurer.
2016 marks the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and to celebrate, the organisation is encouraging people to take on a once-in-a-lifetime challenge of their choice and in doing so, raise funds to help transform the lives of young people in the area.
Never ones to shy away from a challenge, Miss Rackham, Miss Banns and Benjamin Britten students have joined forces with Hartismere School staff and students to embark on a unique and daring Diamond adventure...
The challenge will take place on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd July and will involve a 40 mile walk from Lowestoft to Eye, where Hartismere school is based, including an overnight stop at a campsite halfway between the two locations. Each participant who raises a minimum of £60 for the charity will also earn their Diamond Challenge Pin! A Just Giving page has been set up for those who would like to show their support for this exciting endeavor and donate to a very worthwhile cause: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Benjamindiamonds2016
