After a two week competition between tutor groups to collect as much food as possible for the East Suffolk Food Bank, members of the School Council boarded the school minibus and followed a second minibus full of the food they had collected down to the ESFB packing warehouse on Monday 5th December.
Between all tutor groups, students managed to collect over 1500 food items and goods for those members of our community who rely on local food banks to supplement their grocery shopping. The volunteers working at the warehouse were extremely grateful for the donations and spoke to the students about how the foodbank works before showing them how to pack and label boxes ready for distribution.
A big thank you to all students, parents and staff who supported this project and congratulations to 7CG who won the class sweets and treats hamper for collecting 222 items and 7AS who won the prize for best dressed box! Prizes will be presented in Year 7 assembly on Monday 12th December.
